The activity screen is blank
The activity modules run in Adobe's Flash Player, which is a free download from this link for a standalone PC. You need to have this installed to watch the videos and complete the activities. You may have to ask your school technician to do this on a network PC.
I just see a blank where the video should be
Give the video a couple of moments to start loading - on a slow Internet connection, it may take a short pause before the video becomes playable. If that fails, make sure that you have the latest version of Flash installed. The activities run on Version 9 and above, but by ensuring you have the latest version of the player, you can minimise any problems. You can do this for free on a standalone PC or Mac at this link. You may have to ask your school technician to do this on a network PC.
Alternatively, your school firewall may block streaming video, resulting in a blank space where the video should be in the activity module. You can usually get round this by asking your technician to do one of the following:
- Add ReelFrench.com to your list of 'safe sites' which are flagged as allowed / unblocked. Sometimes you may need to ask your authority to do this if your Firewall is centralised and not maintained on site.
- Allow the Flash Player plugin to access and download files with the .flv extension. These are Flash Video files and are used to store the video separately. It could be that these kinds of files are blocked by your school firewall - it should be possible to selectively unblock them for the domain ReelFrench.com.
